Halloween Nights 2026 at St Fagans | Welsh Ghosts, Folklore and the Burning Wicker Man
It wouldn’t be Halloween (Nos Calan Gaeaf) in Wales without a visit to St Fagans National Museum of History in Cardiff!
This year, I popped along to their Halloween Nights on 31 October itself for an evening of ghosts and goblins, all inspired by Welsh folklore, which culminates in the burning of the Wicker Man (If you’re wondering why they’re burning a Wicker Man, all will be revealed – or you can check out my video from last year’s event).
Watch Halloween Nights 2026 below and check out more Welsh folklore videos on YouTube:
The scare actors are all creepy characters from Welsh folklore – think Ladi Wen and Hwch Ddu Gwta, not Dracula and Frankenstein’s Monster (although the Wolf Man would be fine – he is Welsh!), as well as traditional Nos Calan Gaeaf customs like, spooky fairground attractions, and all manner of weird and wonderful Halloween activities at one of Wales’s best-known Halloween events.
The only downside to Halloween Nights 2026 is that, as usual, it sold out, so if you couldn’t get a ticket – or just fancy exploring some Welsh ghosts and folklore in one of Wales’s finest museums – join me as I explore St Fagans after dark…
Until next time… nos da!
